The MPSE is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide a wealth of knowledge from award winning professionals to a diverse group of individuals, youth and career professionals alike; mentoring and educating the community about the artistic merit and technical advancements in sound and music editing; providing scholarships for the continuing advancement of motion picture sound in education; and helping to enhance the personal and professional lives of the men and women who practice this unique craft.

Big Cat Week is this week on NatGeo WILD. Featured in the lineup are two shows that Steve edited and mixed.

Big Cat Wars: Lion vs Cheetah takes us to the wilds of the Serengeti to witness a stunning act of violence by two male lions.

Hunt For the Shadow Cat follows trapper Boone Smith as he tracks down jaguars in Belize in order to help learn more about the elusive wild cat.

This month’s issue of CAS Quarterly is really impressive and insightful featuring product reviews, industry observations, and biographic information on this year’s honored recipients of the Filmmaker and Lifetime Achievement Awards. It features amazing articles from a review of the incredible A8 Realizer by Peter Damski to a very informative review of V-Control Pro by David Bondelevitch. Karol contributed this month by writing an article that explores the development and potential of the new generation of ProTools controllers, specifically those using the new Eucon ethernet protocol. Steve and Karol Take Home Some Bling at the 2011 TIVA DC Peer Awards Ceremony



On November the 19th, Urban Audio Post partners, Steve and Karol Urban, took home individual awards at the 2011 TIVA DC Peer Awards. Steve won a Bronze Peer Award for his mix on a promo for National Geographic for the “Shane Untamed.”  Karol took home a Bronze for her sound design for Discovery Studios “Anxious.” Steve was at the National Press Club to receive the awards.
